Posting an issue for a buddy. He has a JD 4200 Hydrostat trans. He says he was working on the driveway and put it in High range "C' to get to the end of the drive, and when he tried to go back to B and A range, it wouldn't go there. He could get into Neutral and C, but it wouldn't go into B or A range. He said linkages look ok and he didn't hit anything.
It sat a few days and I asked him to go out and try it now, maybe something built up pressure and wouldn't allow the lower ranges, but he said it was still doing the same thing.

My 3320 definitely has a detent or a very “positive “ feeling when getting it from C to B, takes a little power

sometimes I go back to C the into B

maybe try rocking the rear wheel a bit?

it always has shifted in, not sure what is going on

let us know

Might want to try feathering the HST pedals, with selector in neutral, to see if that helps any.

Ok, issue is solved.
I talked to my buddy today and he said the Hydraulic fluid was low. He said "I check it all the time (it has a sight window) and I don't know where it all went....SMH
Thanks for all the help and replies.
