John Deere GX85 - Won't Start - Able to Jump thru Solenoid then runs fine

"Tractor" (it's only 13 hp) will not start.

Mechanically inclined woman here, but I'm confounded by this! I know enough to venture in, but also enough to be dangerous.

REPLACED:
ignition switch
solenoid
seat safety switch
fuse (it was blown)


TESTED:
* Starter - it seems fine (removed from tractor & wired to a battery)
----- able to jump start it through the solenoid - then runs fine

* PTO Switch - works as should
* Neutral Start Relay - works as should
* Seat Safety harness - works as should

Battery reads 12.5 volts, starter side of solenoid reads the same, however the other top & bottom pole on the other side doesn't read anything with ignition switch on start ... not sure if it should (the left side small contact is connected to the ignition switch).

Cleaned Ignition Switch contacts.

I've downloaded the Tech Manual which has helped me perform a couple of the tests, but still coming up short.

I don't know where to go from here ... help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

the small wire on the ignition solenoid should have 12v when the key is in start, this is what engages the solenoid which engages the starter.

if you don't have 12v there with the key in start, trace this wire back till you do.

Finally found sliced wires at the neutral safety switch ... splice & start ... yee ha!
