I need a lawn tractor to handle a couple of acres with gentle slopes. A neighbor is selling his 2001 John Deere GT235 with ~250 hours on it for around $2500. It runs well and seems to be beautifully maintained. A couple of questions:
- The consensus I'm seeing on here is that these are well-built units, but where are they serviced and are there any issue getting parts, etc? Will a Deere dealer typically still service it?
- Is their a light-duty front-end loader that works with this? I have lots of loose rocks that I'll eventually need to move around and I'd prefer the tractor do most of the work, if possible. Not huge boulders, but lots of 0-50lb rocks.
- I'll also need to do some grading/spreading work, are there any attachments for this that work well with this model?
Also looking for general opinions on price/worth for this unit. It also comes with a rear-mount trunk that dumps.
