John Deere GT235
I need a lawn tractor to handle a couple of acres with gentle slopes. A neighbor is selling his 2001 John Deere GT235 with ~250 hours on it for around $2500. It runs well and seems to be beautifully maintained. A couple of questions:

- The consensus I'm seeing on here is that these are well-built units, but where are they serviced and are there any issue getting parts, etc? Will a Deere dealer typically still service it?
- Is their a light-duty front-end loader that works with this? I have lots of loose rocks that I'll eventually need to move around and I'd prefer the tractor do most of the work, if possible. Not huge boulders, but lots of 0-50lb rocks.
- I'll also need to do some grading/spreading work, are there any attachments for this that work well with this model?

Also looking for general opinions on price/worth for this unit. It also comes with a rear-mount trunk that dumps.

there don't seem to be a FEL for that which Deere sells, maybe aftermarket.. I know that the International Harvester Cub Cadet had every attachment that a full size tractor could have, in a scaled down version, I imagine this JD could do the same, with aftermarket attachments.. look here. The small loaders sort of missed the GT and were available on others . Good grass cutters , blade pushers and loaded cart haulers

Good mower. Well built. Look into a Johnny Bucket. They work well and are very handy.

Thanks, all, for the feedback, greatly appreciated! Talking turkey with the seller now, we'll see what happens.

I owned one for a long time. It's a very well built garden tractor with the K71 tranny that is head and shoulders above the k46 they use on the big box lawn tractors today. I just used mine for mowing and towing a garden cart, so no experience with a blade or loader with it. Never heard of a loader being available for it.

that looks brand new!. besides the Johnny Bucket, aftermarket sellers also make a cab for that.. and that K71 tranny is serviceable, unlike the X380, which has the K58 tranny, which is not serviceable!.. in other words, if the tranny fails on one of those, you are supposed to throw it out, and buy a new tranny!.. which is nuts!..
