John Deere digital display panel

I have a John Deere 6410 MFWD and the digital display panel that shows engine speed, mph, hour meter, clock etc. has burned out on me. My dealer wants $1300+ for a replacement. Is there any source where a person can buy a new digital display panel, other than through John Deere?

br442 I have a 4520 and often wondered what would do if it quits displaying.
Is the problem electrical because of water or damage from being hit.
Maybe design a custom dash. Start. shut off. amps +/_ hour meter. engine rpm. Do we really need a err. display that says the left turn signal bulb is not working.So quit doing what ever you were doing drive to tractor shed find the book and look up error. # turn around go back to work except the only display is err#
I gave up tring to figure the problem with the fuel guage. Just add 5 gal. before getting started. know this will last until Lunch.

I appreciate the responses from you fellows. I contacted Ag Express and they tell me the display from the 6410 cannot be repaired by them as it was "glued" in a sandwich fashion when it was built.

I also tried greenfarmparts.com and they were only a few bucks cheaper than my local dealer.

I'm going to try to find a used unit from a salvage company. I have had varying information provided as to replacing this display. One fellow told me that the hours on the tractor and other info are stored in a CPU on the engine and would show on the replacement, and another fellow told me that I would just have to put a sticker on the dash to indicate hours.

Anyone have any insight on this??

The instrument panel of my 3032E just went out, but was replaced under warranty. The hours meter was reset to zero, and the dealer says there's no way to capture existing hours on the new indicator. Fortunately, I've kept a record, so it's no big deal. Might be a different story with different models, but thought I'd share my experience.

Most cut's do not have a ccu so the inst cluster is what keeps track. The 6410 will have a ccu and I believe that it is correct that this is where hour info is stored and not the panel but could be wrong. Let us know after you replace.
