Hi

Can someone tell me the difference between a 450 b and a 450 c track loader?

Thanks Charlie

Hi Lazy; I'm not precise on this, but here is my best answer. Much of this you may already know:
JD 450 B manufactured from aprox 1970 to 1978?
JD 450 C manufactured from aprox 1979 to 1984?

The 450 C is a very slightly updated version. It is turbocharged. It has a 70 gross hp 4 cyl diesel. Weighs 16,700 lbs. 1.25 cubic yard bucket. Single lever loader control. Hydraulic track adjustment. Self adjusting steering clutches & brakes.

In contrast, I don't think the "B" was turbocharged, but most of the other specs are similar.

They are extremely useful machines. Parts can be expensive, make sure the undercarriage is in good shape....

I think the b models have dry clutches and the c models have wet clutches the wet clutches last about 3 times longer.

Thats the biggest difference between the two, always go for the "C" model if possibe, you can't beat the wet clutches.
