John deere #9 sickle on an 870 tractor

Hi. I have a 870 compact tractor with a cat 1 hitch. I'm trying to hitch up a #9 sickle mower but the arms are not at the same angle when looking straight down on the hitch. It's like the arms mount too close together on the tractor to line up with the bolt on mounts on the mower.
