John Deere 790 vs Kubota L2800

Can anyone give a good reason why I would choose a 790 over the Kubota L2800. With the 2800 I would be getting ovef 600 lbs more tractor.

Help Please?

I am going to be using a york rake and 5 foot brush hog mostly and then some bucket work with snow and minor land scaping. I do not need a hoe attachment.

With these two machines (guessing you are not getting HST as only the Kubota comes in HST), I would suggest that you heavily influence your decision based on the dealer and the "feel" of each tractor to you.

Both are really nice machines and IMHO you can't really go wrong.

If I were you though, I'd give the the L3400 a good look to. Not very much more money than the L2800 - basically the same tractor with 6 more hp which should pretty much all find its way to the PTO. I bet that if you trade in even after the decade, you will get much of the extra bit of money back that you paid for the 6hp.

i looked at the 2800 before buying the 790 . the 2800 is a nice machine but has a single stage clutch with over run built in . and the 790 has the dual stage clutch .

I just bought an L3400DT this Saturday. It has the dual stage clutch. I am not sure of the price difference between the 2800 & 3400 though.
