John Deere 5420 Power Reverser Clutch

After my 5420 sets for a little while I have to pound on the clutch repeatedly to get the tractor to start. Either the electric clutch switch has a problem or there is a short somewhere. Anyone seen this? Thanks

On my 5420 PR tractor open station have some times a simular problem. look under the platform and there is a switch with wiring close to the clutch lever. have no idea of its purpose but will prevent the engine from starting. finally tie wraped the wiring from coming loose so far no problems.

Can I see this from underneath or do I remove part of the platform ? Thanks for the help. BAH

Should be able to see follow the clutch rod to point where it connected to shaft out of transmission and just above this point is the wiring and connector to looks like a sensor don't know purpose.
I started to look for something loose when stopped in barn yard and raining to open gate and when steped off tractor engine died. this wire was dangeling down and the connector was only area it would connect to so did. restarted the engine. will run when disconneted and on seat. wil not do anything with engine stopped.
Are you being effected by the weather coming in. Saw where it is snowing also.
