All of the gauges on my John Deere 5303 have quit working. It does not seem to be a fuse or electrical problem. Moisture has built up inside the panel as mine did not have the anti fog glass. Will I need to replace the instrument panel and if so do all the gauges come in the new instrument panel?

Did this happen all at once or over time? Are the indicators at the both of the instrument panel working?

With all being out, I would once again check all the fuses start with the 10 amp fuses (link to manual below) and then look at the ground wire and the power wire for the instrument panel. Normally ground is a black wire.

Looking at the tech. manual for 5303 the cluster gets its power from the key switch wire number 022 most likely this is a red wire, then goes to a 10 amp fuses then on wire 072 goes to the cluster.

Before taking anything part disconnect the negative cable at the battery or where it connects to the frame.

Looking at JD parts it the cluster is all one part, so you will need to replace the whole think.

They did not all go out at once. First was the hour meter, then over time the tach, temp gauge, and last was the fuel gauge. With the cluster getting moisture inside, could this have corroded the circuit board and caused the failure. I have checked the fuses and wiring as you have suggested many times and can't find a problem there.

Since they went out over time, what you suggest is possible.

On the fuel gauge try this, disconnect the 2 wires at the sender ie the tank. With the key just in the run position (no need to start tractor) touch the 2 wires together and see what the gauge does. If it goes to the full the problem is the fuel tank sender.

On the temp gauge find the sensor wire 359 under the hood, unplug it with the key just in the run position (no need to start tractor) ground it to the engine and see what the gauge does. If it goes to hot the problem is sensor.

I will give this a try. Thank you.

Let me what you find. I would hate to recommend you replace the cluster and the problem is some place else.

The tach could be the speed sensor

I had this problem 12 years ago with my Deere 5520. When I went into the shop they said there was a silent recall (you had to complain first) and they ordered me a free replacement cluster. Seems they haven't gone very far in 12 years.

You might try submerging the instrument panel in some white rice to draw the moisture out. Check IP ground connections.
