I'm in the market for a new tractor that would do a variety of tasks around the house. My land consists of 11 acres total. 5 acres is woods (mostly hard wood trees) and the rest is mature grass. The tasks I will be doing include clearing some of the wooded area, maintaining a gravel drive to the house and separate shop, a half acre garden, and keeping the lawn nicely mowed. Attachments will include a loader, finish mower, plow, tilller, rear blade, and a wood splitter. I will opt for 4wd and R4 tires. The things I like about this tractor is the loader capacity, the synchro shuttle transmission, and the price point. Opinions needed.

Should easily do the job for you. But woods and grass won't demand a need for a dirt plow (maybe you meant snow plow). I'd suggest a hydro tranny rather than shuttle, but that is your choice.
I have 32 hp sub compact utility and handles my 20 acres of forested land with ease.. HST, FEL, forks, 7' western plow, R4's, etc.
Doubt you will be disappointed, unless it turns out to be too heavy and rough on your lawn.

Yea, that,,,

I doubt you will enjoy mowing with a 3.5 ton lawnmower,,,
it will do the mowing,, but turns will have to be slow,,
don't even think about cutting for days after a rain.

I just bought a JD 4105 to mow with, similar HP,, hopefully, half the weight.

AGREE with CAD, that's a heavy mower, I like the 4000 series tractors, sort of surprised they dropped the 4105 though, guess they needed new number configurations to be current:confused3:

The mowing is a concern. The grass is thick and mature. The previous owner used a Bob Cat CUT w a72" finish mower and the lawn looks amazing. He kept the loader on the Bob Cat while mowing. I would definitely detach the 240H loader on the 5045 Deere while mowing. With that said, I'd still be roughly 1500lb heavier.

They're still selling the 4105 here. When did JD drop them? (sorry to thread-jack)

It is "on" deere.com,, but, when you try to "build" it,, the 4105 can not be found.

There are plenty of new ones on dealer lots,,,
here is my obsolete antique,,, a 2013 model year.

A lot of folks on this site opt for a zero turn mower for finish mowing. Doesn't cost much more, if any, than the finish mower for the tractor, works faster and eliminates most of the concerns of damage to the lawn.

Well, to be honest there's not a lot to 'build' with the 4105. It always was a bare-bones, nothing 'pretty' or luxurious tractor. About the only option you can add is the 300CX FEL, but that was/is the point of it.

Oh yeah, where's your LH Indicator? You haven't broken it already!

I think production actually stopped in 2015 or early 2016.
