- 2000 New Holland TN65 & 1956 John Deere 50
I have a 1956 John Deere Model 50 that was manufactured in February 1956 - just prior to the changeover to the Model 520. It was the last of the 300 "50's" built.
I restored it completely and it actually runs better than when it was new. Not sure why it runs better, perhaps the timing was off or some other reason.
The REAL problem is the sentimental value. I was sitting on my grandfather's hay wagon when he made the deal with the salesman; tried to talk my grandfather into getting a "60" rather than a "50". No go there!!
The salesman gave me a John Deere toy tractor (which I still have today) along with the purchase of the Model 50.
For my own selfish reasons...I guess it would be worth $50,000; but in reality...what is it really worth?
Just curious...I may want to sell.
