John Deere 4520 Oil Change

I'm looking at using Lucas Oil Magnum CJ-4 15w40 Synthetic does anybody have any reason why I should not use this.

You don't show your location, but if it gets cold in your area, I would think about the 5w-40 for better cold weather performance.

Just my opinion but as long as you keep up with the oil change schedule throughout the entire life of the tractor any of the good brands will work. That is more important long term and using the proper weight/viscosity oil. While I use Delo 400 in a 15w 40 in my diesels I doubt that it would matter if I used Lucas, Rotella or any other brand that comes to mind. I change my oil in 150 hour intervals on the 110 and 4520 which is about twice a year each.

I do like Lucas products by the way. Their fuel additive is good imo.

What weight oil would you guys use for Oh

I used 15/40 Rotella in Wisconsin and it worked out just fine. But I the dead of winter I plugged the diesel tractor in an hour or so if I was going to use it. The diesel garden tractor I used for snowblowing used the same oil but no plug in. That was more difficult to start when it hit -10F. But they always started. They were in an unheated pole shed.

I use the JD 0W-40 Plus 50 synthetic in my 4720....I live in Minnesota.

I live in central Pennsylvania and use John Deere Plus 50-II. The John Deere dealer stocks and recommends 15W-40 weight which has worked well w/o any plug-in heater.
