Hi, I have been reading this forum for awhile and I'm glad I can finally jump in and mix it up.

I have been looking for a good tractor for my land now for a few months. I am really looking for a ~30 HP tractor with a front end loader that at some point I will be adding a back-hoe attachment to, but not in the near future. I live in S. Texas, so cold and snow is of no concern. I have about 20 Acres with some cattle and I am looking for something I can use to maintain the land. I already have an auger, box blade, mower, etc. I am looking to add a backhoe at some point because I find myself taking on these projects where I am always digging something up and I really like to live by the motto "Gas not xxx". LOL. For now I will settle for a tractor with front end loader.

I have located a 4410 with hydro and FEL for sale here locally. It is an '03 model with ~100 hours, looks pretty decent. Since the 4410 to my knowledge has been discontinued (JD website does not show it) I'm not sure what to compare it to except maybe the 3320 or 3520. The 4000 series now starts with 43 HP, so I would assume this is a 4000 series tractor with a smaller motor.

What would be a fiar price for this tractor in good shape with low hours. Included is a brush hog 513 and FEL 413 (quick attach style I think). It is a hydrostatic drive with 4WD. Thanks and looking forward to your responses.

OK, I wanted to add a few things on here. I have been searching this forum and it looks like the 4410 was a $18-$20K Tractor new in 2003 with FEL and BH. Also, I believe the 3320 is the closest competitor with 32.5 HP. I know the 4410 probably has a beefier frame, but the 3320 is closest in HP and feature/capability wise (both weigh approx. 2900 lbs according to specs).

I got a quote for a 3320 6 months ago for 17K +4K for the FEL, no BH, which is about a $1,200 item I believe. So that puts me at 21K for a new 3320 with FEL but no BH, which I already have one but I really could use a new one as mine is very old and worn. So comparing the 3320 new at 21K how does a 2003 4410 stack up?

Also, I wanted everyones opinions on how they like the 4410. It will be used on flat ground, no hills or terrain (but some mud!).

I can't help with pricing, but the 4410 is a great tractor for sure...

A little history: the 4000TEN Series consisted of the 4210, 4310, and 4410 which became the 3000TWENTY Series. The 4000TEN Series also included the 4510, 4610, and 4710 which became the 4000TWENTY Series. So the 4410 is comparable to the 3000TWENTY Series across the board.
In 2003 my 4310 was $15,400, the 4410 went for about $16,700. It came with either a Model 420 or Model 430 FEL with the 430 being the heavier duty model with higher lift and greater capacity. The 430 FEL sold for $3,300.
To run a backhoe on a 4410 will require a PowerBeyond kit (Part LVB25085) which ran me $210 in 2004. The backhoe attachment itself is usually more than $1,200 ($5000+?).
Here in the Midwest used 4310/430 combo's are going for $13,900 to $14,800, but they almost certainly have more than 100 hours on them, which is hardly broke in. Throw the 513 in and I'd pay $16,500 for the 4410/430/513 with only 100 hours on it.

Thanks for your reply, a lot of great info there.

I was thinking that the 4410 was now closer to the 3000TWENTY as you put it. Thanks, that gives me a starting point.

Sorry I was probably confusing you, the BH=Brush Hog on this rig, no backhoe. I will put a backhoe attachement on at a later time, first thing is to get the tractor and add the backhoe later.

Is there anything better about the newer 3000TWENTY than the old 4410? New features like imatch etc? Or are they basically the same tractor. Anybody have any input on running a backhoe on either of these tractors? I probably missed the deal but I wasn't really ready to buy just yet ( I have not really done much looking other than basic research). I really need to kick the tires around and maybe drive a few before I want to spend 15K on a used machine.

iMatch works on either; I've got the TSC quick hitch made by Speeco on mine.

Primary changes in the TWENTY series were motors with lower emissions, the availability of a genuine Deere cab, adding a turbo to the 3520 & 3720 for more power, and they are cheaper to manufacture. Couple the cheaper to manufacture with the price increases and profit margin increased. Which only matters if you're a shareholder:)
If we run down a spec list: 4410 verses 3520 the hydraulic systems are EXACTLY idenical. 2500 PSI, 8.6 GPM implement pump, 5.3 GPM steering pump, lift capacities the same, etc.

My neighbor has a 4410 with a 430 FEL.

It is a nice tractor. I don't know the capacity of the loader, but I have packed it full of medicine-ball sized rocks with my hoe & thumb and he has driven it off with no problem.

I looked to trade my 4400 for a 3520 or a 3720, and decided to stick with what I have. To me it seems like I sit down in my tractor, and on the 20 series I sat on top. I like the feel as it is what I got used to.

I have been overall happy with the capacities of my tractor, although when I see more hp I always think I need to have it.

Right now I see myself keeping my 4400 until it falls in a heap. Considering what they still bring when for sale, it is one of the cheapest pieces of equipment per year that I own. Over 10 years I might lose $5K if I sold it. It definitely makes me more than the $500/year it costs to own it.

Thanks for all that replied. FYI the tractor sold for $13K to somebody else, I missed out. I am not really ready to buy just yet but it was a heck of a deal anyways. Will be checking in when I do get ready to buy, probably sometime within the next six months.
