Greetings, y'all,
This spring brought me a new surprise to my 4310. I put it to bed late last fall with a full tank of diesel spiked with the appropriate amount of anti-gel (just in case I needed to use it to move an odd mid-winter snow). This spring I found a giant puddle of diesel stained pebbles under the tractor and an almost empty fuel tank. I put a little fresh diesel in the fuel tank and quickly discovered a fuel drip from an area near a black-painted nut just to the left of the oil filler cap on the right side of the tractor. Behind this nut-job were two small metal inlet pipes. One fuel hose line came to the larger pipe from the fuel bowl/water separator and after doing some research I found that the other pipe is some kind of vent line inlet from the fuel injectors. DanG4400 recently did a post on this subject within the past two months. It seems that I need to replace this 3/16" line from the last injector in the series to the small inlet pipe behind the nut looking thing due to the relatively poor shape of the line coming from upstream. What I did not understand was how to remove the air cleaner box assembly from the tractor so I can see/inspect/and repair the vent line(s). If anyone can be so kind as to tell me how to do this, I think I can fix this thing properly. Many thanks in advance.
