john deere 4120 utility tractor

I have a john deere 4120 tractor and it lost power yesterday while bushogging. It acts as if the pto is still engaged when you try to restart it, because it does absolutley nothing. not even a click when you turn the ignition. the rpm gauge is stuck on 2500rpm whether the key is on or not. I checked the fuel level, the battery, check to ensure it was out of gear and pto is off, and tried to jump start it. It just acts like its not getting any power to the ignition. Any advice?

That was it. The strap that holds the air filter housing in place had come off and apparently shorted out the alternator and blew a fuse. Thanks!!
