I have a John Deere 4105 with the electric PTO Ive learned to engage it at an idle then increase speed the idle back down before disengage. I just bought a MF 725 haybine. Its a great machine however I think my Deere is causing this problem. The pulley on the bottom roller which is driven by a belt from the gear box is a threaded pulley the problem im having is when I shut down or after running the bine a while the pulley breaks loose and spins off. Only think I can figure is when my PTO slows down then hits the lock and stops completely theres momentum on the rollers even at idle to break the pulley loose a little then it just works its way off. Is there anyway to change this sudden lock up on this tractor or has anyone else had a similar problem? This is a great haybine and I got a really good deal on it and Id hate to have to get rid of it because of this simple issue. My thoughts are loc tite it and crank it down really tight and pray it works.
