Hello, thanks for your help.

Just got a price quote for a 3520 with 300x loader and 61 inch materials bucket. No mid-mount PTO, has air ride seat and standard wheels and tires.

$ 18,799.00 plus tax, out the door.

What do you think?

Okay, here we go with the 300x loader again... If you can get the 300cx Loader instead of the 300x... I highly recommend doing it... Their is (in my opinion) a huge difference between the two...

More lift height, and lots more lift capacity.... and it is only $400-$500 more.
Also, I really recommend going with a heavy duty bucket.... a standard duty bucket is thin, and it is not reinforced at all... it will eventually warp on you.. Pay the difference and go heavy duty...

And the other thing, is do you really only want a 61" bucket? The only reason I ask is because your tire width is about 5ft... that means your bucket will only overlap your tire tracks by an inch or two... I have the 73" HD Bucket and love it, but I certainly wouldn't go any less than the 66" bucket...

Make sure you don't cut corners to save a few bucks here and there... because you will regret it later if you do... do it right the first time.

To answer your question -

The quote is good. A year or so ago I paid 17,500 for a 3320 with 300X and 33 hours (I belive it was 33) regular R4s (only .5 difference between these and larger R4s btw) and no air ride. 1,300 buys you a $500 air ride seat and the extra horses. Good buy in m eyes.

I have the 61": Standard duty and 300X and have no issues at all (if by chance you cannot get the 300CX on this deal). I have loaded and filled quite a bit of dirt with no issues of the bucket. I can lift rocky IL soil mounded over the bucket to the full height of the loader with my 300X. There are ADDITIONAL reinforcements on the HD bucket, it is not that the standard does not have any (top edge for one). No one has complained of warped bucket here on the 3XX or 4XX series loaders and buckets.

I do agree that get the upgrades now that you want and pay the money now. Only hurts once.

I would recommend adding at minimum the 3rd SVC hydraulic options, power beyond, and DSCV if you want to spend the coin. Get as many hydraulic options installed now as you can afford.

I personally like the 61" bucket, as I have some tighter areas with which the bukcet size is helpful. Please keep in mind your loader lift capacity INCLUDES your bucket, so if you go too heavy on your bucket and go with the 300x not cx you will be taxing your lift capacity. Mike has had good luck with his 300x, as have other dedicated users of JD equipment, but I personally really like the 300cx. It is not much more expensive and really does the job. I would price your machine with one of those and see what the difference might be.

I have both the 3500 and the 300x loader. Has never failed to handle anything I've tried so far. Had a question a short time back about the 300x loader lifting a hay bale. Conclusion on this forum was it would be "iffy" at best where the 300cx loader would handle it. I did not want to spend the $$ to buy a hay spear and find out. Problem on that is the light weight of the tractor makes movement with that much on the fel tricky anyway.

Quote sounds good for the Texas area. Prices vary from area to area.

That sounds like a good price. I paid 21,900 OTD 3 months ago for a 3520 with upgrade R4's, 300 CX, E-Hydro, 5' box blade and 5' brush hog(LX5). Also had the HD bucket. I agree with everyone else, no way Id compromise loader specs to save a few hundred. Good luck.

All right crew, struck my deal today. John Deere 3520 with 300x loader, 71 inch heavy duty bucket, mid mount PTO, turf tires, e-Hydro and a couple other bells and whistles for $ 18,700 before tax.

I know the heavier duty loader was recommended, but the unit was in stock and available. Delivery for a different package was 5 weeks out.

Dealer also gave me a fair trade for my Kioti LK 3054.

Havn't picked it up yet and I really appreciate all the tips. I'm excited to be part of the green family.

Thanks

Awesome! What reason did you choose turfs? Can't wait to see them on the 3520! Any implements purchased yet? What mower will you use?

Also - Are you sure on the 71" bucket or 61" bucket?

Where are you purchasing this unit? That price is much lower than I see routinely in the Midwest.

Coming a bit late, but I've never had any problem with my 61" regular duty bucket and 300CX on my 2009 3520. A larger bucket would be cumbersome and difficult to handle when full of dirt or rocks.
