I have casually been looking at buying a diesel powered lawn tractor, the reason being that I finally took the plunge and purchased a bulk fuel storage tank. It seems like every time I want to mow the yard I have to run to town and get some gasoline.
A gentleman down the road from me has a 1988ish 332 Deere with a 50 inch deck. He bought it new. It has 1300 hours on it. He is asking 1600$ for it. It needs painted as the fenders are starting to show some rust bubbles and it needs a new seat. It started right up when I showed up to look at it, idled fine, and the deck engaged without a lot of noise. He bought a new zero turn and has had this one in his shed for a few years is why he has decided to sell it. I am sure it would need the fluids and filters changed. One thing he mentioned is that he had never changed the antifreeze even though it recommends every two years or 1200 hours.
So, can anybody give me any insight on these small tractors?
Thanks WP
