I recently purchased a Deere 300...Unit came with a tiller that ran with no noise or vibration out of the ordinary... I put tiller under load an seemed to work as it should.. To the issue.. Came with no manual of course.. I had tiller engaged an running at a descent rpm when I lowered it to hard/fast...I heard a clunk an the tiller tines stopped spinning...I can move tines by hand forward a backwards but they do hit a stopping...does this tiller have a shear pin made to protection.? Or did I snap a gear of some sort.. I did take a couple plates off... The easy ones... Main gear by rear of tractor looked okay.. Main chain looked okay..but the drive that connects to tines I'm not sure of...hope I was clear enough in my explanation..any info would be appreciated.. Thanks...
