In checking other forums I learned that most surging is caused by leaks in the intake manifold so I took the manifold out, cleaned it, and put gasket sealer on it.
Everything was put back together correctly but I still have the surge. Can someone point me in another direction pertaining to stopping the surging?
The mower seems to run OK if using full throttle and engaging the mower deck but it starts surging as soon as the deck is shut off.

Thanks, Mike

Mtn Mike you have a dirty carburetor and or some dirt in the fuel system for sure. Get yourself a kit and rebuild the carburetor. If you go to youtube and rebuilding an owan carb there is a good video on how to do it........KJD

I thought that I would reply to this older thread. I ran a can of Seafoam through the carb and also put some in the gas tank.
I no longer have the surge so it was probably a dirty line or dirt in the carb.

Just an update to share with you.
