John Deere 3032e remote hydraulics

I am new here. I have a john Deere 3032e without hydraulic remotes. I want to use a log splitter 3pt. JD wants $889 for the kit to add remotes. Is there any chance I could do it a little more economically?

What so you have for hyd now?

To use a log splitter which has it's own valve, you need a high pressure port.

It could could from the FEL.

It could come from the side of the tractor, etc.

I have a loader on the tractor now. I want to hook up a wood splitter.

I am beginning to think it might be cheaper to just put a pump on the PTO drive. But that would be just one thing that I would have to remove for other attachments.

Chuck J_J pointed you in the right direction, the valve that controls your loaded has a high pressure line and a return line plumbed to it, adding quick couplers on each of these lines would be simplest way to power you splitter but you would not be able to use the loader at same time. A diverter valve and then a remote valve would work best but will be a bit more work plumbing and cost quite a bit more. Pto pump, tank and plumbing is going to cost also and be a pain in the butt. The 3032e does have open center hyd. so be sure to keep that in mind when plumbing.

I was thinking I could just T into those lines seeing that I wouldn't be using the loader while splitting wood anyway.

I don't think you will be able to just tee in, open center hyd. is going to mean that while your loader control valve is in the natural position pressure oil flows through the valve and back to sump.

Thank you for the insite. What if I t off the bucket tilt and then secure the loader control lever to the side to apply pressure to splitter?

The best thing you could do is chose a PB line and put a QD on it so you can plug the log splitter in.

When not using the log splitter, plug the QD to the 3pt.

The log splitter OUT hose can go to a return line, or to the hyd filler cap.

Yes chuck you could do that and it would work, one thing I would think on a little bit before hand would be your total investment in the tractor, then think about resale value. Yes the kit is kind of a lot at $850 but it is going to fit the tractor, most likely will have all the nuts, bolts and hoses you need to make it fit and work as it should, it will look nice on your tractor and add value to your tractor once you are ready to sell it. At the very least go to dealer and look at the break down of the kit see what is there, try to find a tractor that has the kit installed and look at how it came out, then ask yourself "do I want to be a hydraulic engineer or do I just want to get this done and go use my tractor". If you ask enough questions you can get a windshield wiper to work on a ducks butt, all you have to do is wire it right but why?
