Hey TBN, I've been creeping on this forum for awhile but the time is fast approaching to buy and I'd like to make sure I'm getting a good deal.

I was quoted from Washington Tractor in Lynden, WA the following:

John Deere 3025E + 6 year / 3000hr comprehensive warranty + R4 Tires $14,821
D160 Loader w/ 61" Loader Bucket $3,690
Frontier BB2060 Box Blade $875
Load Trail 10K 16ft Tilt Deck Trailer $5,595
D140 Lawn Mower $2,000

Total Price $26,981 + tax.

They are offering 10% down + 0% APR 84 Month financing on the entire package. I think I want to get the comprehensive warranty as the powertrain warranty doesn't cover electrical or hydraulics and I've heard here a few times that you don't want the warranty to run out while you're still making payments. I'm doing some basic loader work, moving some hay bales in the winter time, tilling the garden, redoing the drive way and some minor dirt work in the field on 5.5 acres. I looked at the 1025R but I'd rather have something a bit bigger and handle weight.

What do you all think? Fair deal or I need to try and get some extras thrown in? I was planning on asking for a 5 gallon bucket of Hyguard and a Filter Pak to get thrown in as it is.

I would want a longer trailer even if that meant giving up the tilt for ramps 18-20' would give you a lot more options on placement and it wouldn't be so crowded. 5600 seems crazy high for a 16' too

I'll check into an 18ft. I believe its this trailer 16ft 10k tilt. It seems like a really solid trailer. It seems to be the going rate locally.

If you will be hauling your tractor and implements often I would agree on the longer trailer. The tilt bed is a lot easier to load the mower with, with out the tilt it would hang up the mower deck using ramps. The trailer is the best thing in your package.

This is an unusual combination in that these two machines are both rather limited in their uses. Not trying to offend anyone but a D140 with a poor transmission and a tractor with 25 hp is not what I would do. I am not sure if the D140 will last as long as the payments on it.

I would much prefer an x380 for the mowing which should last a lot longer. For the tractor I would prefer a used yet larger tractor around 40 hp for the field work. A 990 comes to mind or similar. About the same budget but better suited equipment imo.

Well our funding is limited so we are forced to look at the new market with financing. I was considering the Kubota L2501 which specs wise looks really similar so I don't feel like it's under powered. I plan on using the PTO maybe a few times a year so I don't need 20+ pto horsepower.

I wouldn't mind an X350 but we have a 3/4 acre yard that's flat and since we will have a tractor I literally only need to mow and tow a little poly trailer for when my wife is working in the flower beds. And I don't think I can justify spending another $1600 on one.

If it were me I would buy the 2038R with a mid mount mower and fel, box blade and skip the trailer. When I started out there was no way to buy everything I needed at once. My reasoning is that the 2038R would be a perfect fit for your acreage needs, this size tractor with the right basic build should do everything you need now and in the future. Later you could add a new mower for the lawn when you can afford it. You could still use the mid mount mower to maintain the rest of the acreage once you had it fixed up.

The cheapest way to get what you need is to make sure each purchase is the correct purchase long term and add to it as you can.
