I have a 1976 John Deere 2440 that seems to have intermittent issues with the injector pump. Sometimes (especially if the tractor was previously shut down without disengaging the clutch) it is very hard to start the engine, and when it does start, it will only rev to about 1500 RPM. If I immediately shut down the engine and restart, it will start right up and run normally. Any ideas as to what is causing this issue?
