Hello all,
It's a standard unit. gas, no high/low, no reverser, standard PTO. After 3-5 minutes of operation all hydraulics (3 pt., steering, loader) will chatter and move slowly if at all. I can turn off the tractor for less than 1 minute, restart and hydraulic function will return for another 3-5 minutes. This would seem to indicate that the transmission pump is working for a short period.
I researched the web and have checked (cleaned or replaced) the pickup screen, filter, the pressure relief valve and check valve. There was another post with the same issue but it doesn't list the final corrective action. Here's the link to that post. 2030 Hydraulic Problems -- Antique Tractor -- John Deere -- Page 1
I'm using aftermarket hydraulic fluid. Does that have any impact?
The final option is to split and replace the internal pump. But why does it work for a short period and then fail??
Best regards,
Jeff
