tellico,
You may want to go to www.tractorshed.com and look at the discussion forums under John Deere. Do a search for 1120 and I think you can get the info you are looking for. I am not an expert on those tractors, but they tend to hold their value and are great little tractors. The 1120 I think is 52 HP. They could have either a continuous running live or independent PTO. They can be diesel or gas. Diesel versions will cost approx $1,000.00 more than a gas version. They could also have a reverser, which is nice. The steering on the John Deere's is awesome. Parts are available through John Deere and there is quite a bit of aftermarket stuff out there as well. I kept looking at new tractors to replace my old Ford and ended up buying a 301-A, which is the industrial version of the 1020. I love the tractor and will probably not part with it, even if I buy new someday. I think you said it is rough. I would think if it runs well and everything works you would be looking in the $3,000-$5,000 price range. You may want to call a couple of John Deere dealers and see if they can give you an idea of the value of the tractor. Good luck.
