Hi, I have a John Deere 1070 with Backhoe and front loader. It doesn't get used often as you can tell. Fired it up and it has a hydraulic oil leak in one of the front cylinders... i need to take that off and have it rebuilt. However, I need to use it later today to help a neighbor bury a deceased livestock animal. For the life of me I can not remember about the oil and fill places:
1) I believe the oil runs both the transmission and attachment hydraulics, correct?
2) In the first pic I know the top valve cover oil fill is for the engine oil.... What is the the lower fill for (Power Steering?) and how do you check it other than just looking inside?
3) The second picture shows an oil fill at the rear of the tractor by the backhoe and above the 3 PT hitch attachments... There is a dipstick on the left side and and oil fill on the right. Is this where you fill the oil for the the transmission and all hydraulic attachments?
and lastly, what oil do I use for #2 and #3?
Thanks for your help
