John deere 1020 manual steering gear oil

Hey guys had to put new bearings in the manual steering box on my 1020 tractor. Does anyone know the spec and amount for the gear oil? I ordered a manual but it won't be here until next week.

IIRC oil for manual steering gearbox should be 85W-90

The manual shows greasing the steering box in the column first and then filling up the column to a mark that is on the column. Us the 85W-90 oil. You maybe want to flush the oil in the sump below the column and fill the whole reservoir with fresh oil.
