One of the roots of a tree in my front yard had broken my concrete driveway and heaved it up to a point where it was intolerable to drive over. I decided to remove the broken piece of driveway, clean out the roots, and replace the driveway back in its spot. I took a few photos but not a lot. I thought I would share.
With a friends help, we pried up the driveway to where we could wedge some 4x4s under it. Then I worked a tow strap under it from end to end. I cinched up the strap, attached a chain to the front end loader to the strap, lifted and dragged the concrete slab out of its resting place. The slab is estimated to weigh 2000 lbs. It was way more drag than lift. I was very impressed with the little tractor.

After digging out all the roots, filling in and leveling off we put two floor jacks under the slab, lifted it off the 4x4's and dragged it back into place over the space, lowered it down onto steel bars. Then from each end moved the floor jacks to holes I had dug for the floor jacks. I used aluminum plates in the end holes to rest the jacks, where I jacked it up off the steel bars, removed the bars and lowered it down into the hole.
