Would a double pump hyd. pump mount on a Jinma 354 with a TY395 engine. This would be to make a true remote instead of having to go thru the (left side under the seat) valve. I don't have any specific pump sizes. I was just curious if this had ever been tried. It looks like there could be interference with the starter removing service, for instance. There are probably other things that would have to be addressed but I would like more hydraulic options that may be used in conjunction with the 3pt lift. Any one else got ideas on this? bjr

I thought most 304/354s came with two pumps. One for power steering, and one for evrerything else.

If yours is only a single pump, all the hardware should be available from most Jinma dealers, to add it. If you are looking to add a third pump, plus a new resovior, lines, valves, and filter, that would be a bit challenging, including the space for the pump.

Look at this post on CTOA for some hyd mods: CTOA Post

I would reccomend a PTO powered pump from your local tractor pick and pull.

You could add a remote valve in the same way that a loader contorl valveis installed. Use open center valves, you could even put them in line (series), just like installing a backhoe and loader on one. just split the quick connect coming off the pump and add hoses to and from the valve you add and connect them up. It is best to match quick connects with same design (some have ball and some have tapered pin check valves, mixing can cause a check valve to close when connected, not good...)

A PTO driven pump is nice if you are adding an implement with its own hyd. oil resevoir, it is easy on and off.

The TY395 engine has 2 pumps.
1. The pump just forward of the starter - this one operates the 3 point and a FEL if so equipped.
2. Power steering pump mounted in front of the #1 pump.
These two pumps are clearly shown in the picture by JohnS.
Also the CTOA link posted by JohnS is one I posted – I am humbled.

Bluechip’s suggestion IMHO is the best and most cost effective.

However, you could mount another pump on the LEFT side of the engine. Take a look – there are 2 holes on the engine nearly inline and above the “Spare” pulley on the crankshaft to mount an aux pump or other aux device. An electric clutch type pump might be a good option - one you could turn on / off with the flick of a switch.

I am considering the above idea as even the “high” flow Jinma hydraulic pumps do not have enough flow for say like my home made log splitter. In the idea I am in the process of conjuring up is I would use a Clutch pump @ 11 GPM from Northern Tool mount it on the left side of the engine where there is room, drive the pump with a belt connected to the spare aux crank pulley. For the reservoir I would tap into the rear differential fluid by adapting to the drain plug, change the diff fluid to UTF and return the fluid to the diff through the existing vent – then create another vent by drilling into the fill plug. I am pretty close to pulling off this modification as I want as Tim the Tool Man says “MORE POWER” (flow). This mod will take time to engineer and custom manufacturing of parts which I will make on the Milling / Lathe machine I was able to buy with the money I saved when I purchased my 2005 Jinma 354LE.
