Well I am sorry I offended some with my R1 comment. If I was only using it to groom a golf course I would get Turfs. If I was loading commercial products at a nursery or gravel pit I would get R4's. But I stand behind R1's. I have owned tractors for years and they are the best for 80% of the situations. It seems like where your live and what you stated you want the tractor for there is only one choice.

No offense taken Chris. Maybe my reply was a little too blunt. Bad habit of mine. ( I am a moderator on several web forums)

I definately have a need for R1 tires (and the tractor I am dealing for comes with them) but I could also use a set of R4 or turf tires as well.

Let me put it this way. I told my wife I need this thing because my current lawn tractor is too small to mow the lawn at the new place in a reasonable amount of time. (which is true) So if this new tractor can't cut the lawn, then I'm up the creek without a paddle!

Just a note. I mow my 5 acres with a 6 foot finish mower and I have R1's. I don't really see where it hurts the yard. If it were wet it would but I would also think you would do damage with any tires on a tractor this size. I just wait till its dry to mow.
