No matter how I adjust my cable it seems I can only get forward or reverse without several tries and some scrubbing .I can finally get it in gear but you have to push it hard. It will go in one gear but I can't adjust it for both.
Where are you adjusting it at. There are several places to adjust it, Most common is the turnbuckle towards the rear of the tractor under the floorboard. A lot of time there is too much slack in the ends or roll pins ,so the cable has to be replaced
