Need to replace the brake light bulb on my jinma 284le.
The number on the original bulb is 12V/21/5W.

No luck with finding a replacement at Auto Supermarket, Auto Zone or Wal Mart here in Southwestern Pa.

Any suggested sources for finding a replacement will be appreciated.

thanks,
corey

Corey, the little styrofoam box in the toolbox contains the spare lamps for your tractor.

Pretty sure an 1157 will work fine. It's a little brighter so if your worried about heat you could go the diode type replacement bulb. I have 1157 for brake and 1156 for the turn bulbs. Also have the spares like yours. I have not burned the running lights for hours on end, but do recall someone having a heat problem, that's why I mentioned a doide type replacement for a 1157 if you think heat may be a factor.

I'd recommend the LED replacement too.. I left my tractor/Jinma running with the brakes on/factory bulbs for about 20 minutes & the lenses overheated & the tops of the lenses sagged. The led replacements would solve the problem if you can get them to fit.. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Agree with F100Panel,
LED's are the way to go. They are more expensive but basically last forever, runs cool, and consume 1/10th the power of incasedenance bulbs.
Any Auto Zone type store and Tractor Supply has them.

I've had second thoughts on your bulb situation. Definetly use the LED replacement bulbs. I was just looking at mine and the lens are showing distortion. The original 12/5W/21W bulbs are low profile and even they get too hot. The 1157 is a 12V/8W/27W and will be too hot. I'm going to stop by the auto store on the way home and get some LED bulbs. My lens aren't too bad so I'll just swap them from side to side so that the small dip in the top edge won't even be noticable. Guess I should have ckecked my own before shooting my foot off. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
