Jinma 254
I have a jinma 254 2009 with 120 hours, my trouble start when my tractor begin to be hard to start, I check glow plug, fuel filter etc... almost at the same time I start to see oil and little smoke coming out of the crankcase breather. I start troubleshooting ... I find out that some little bubbles was coming out in between the engine block and the head. Did anybody see that problem before... I know for sure that I need to replace the head gasket. Is a broken head gasket explain the oil/smoke coming out of the breather... and why. Thanks for the info and advise.

Most likely blow by in the gasket is pressurizing the crank case and excess pressure is venting out taking some oil & smoke with it. Is the oil getting dirty real fast too>? that is also an indication of blow by of either Ring or Gaskets.

Yes. The other possible answer is you are dumping hydraulic oil into the engine due to a bad seal between the hydro pump and engine block.

Head gasket aside, a third - and not uncommon cause - is plain old dirt. Cleaning the crankcase breather is a routine maintenance item. Alternating positive and negative pressure in the crankcase has to be balanced. That's the job of the breather. When the pressure is positive, oil fumes are forced through the breather. When the pressure is negative, dirt/dust/chaff gets sucked toward the breather. It clings to the filtration material. Over time, enough oil fumes condense into raw oil. Some of it drains back into the crankcase when the engine is not running. But at some point there's so much oil inside the breather, it starts dripping in both directions. Running the engine just makes it worse, as positive crankcase pressure is now forcing dirty oil all the way through and out the wrong side of the breather.

Remove the breather, wash/rinse in gasoline/kerosene/diesel fluid.
