2006 Jinma 200
Hello,
I recently bought a used 2006 M&M Eagle Pro 2420 which appears to be a rebadged JM-200. The engine plate says it's a ty290.
Now before a yesterday I had never touched or looked under the hood of a tractor. My knowledge is limited and I want to learn how to properly maintain it. I want to eventually replace all the filters and change fluids. I found the majority of what I need but I still had a few questions.

1. Does anyone know the fluid capacity for this tractor; engine, hydraulic, tranny, injector pump? I looked around and saw specs for the larger tractors but did not see fluid capacity specs specifically for the jm-200.

2. I noticed that the tractor had an oil bath air filter. How much oil am I supposed to put in the bath?

3. The injector pump does not have a drain on it. Is there a trick to changing the oil?

4. What are the caps for?

5. What is this for?

Sorry, don't know capacities

2. If you look at the oil bath reservoir, it needs enough oil so that the incomming air is forced to pass down thru the oil in order to enter the engine. There is usually an indicating line.

3. The IP drain probably looks like a regular bolt. Can you post a pic of the rear end of the pump? That is usually where they are located. One is a drain, the other will be a level port and you fill it till oil runs out of the upper port.

4. Those caps on the valve cover are where you add engine oil. It is common that the fill and drain ports on these machines are painted red.

5. That is a single acting hydraulic port. They are used typically to operate a hydraulically activated dump trailer(pressure up,gravity down). This port gets pressure whenever the 3PH lift lever is raised. To force fluid to this port and not the 3PH, screw the 3PH speed reg valve all the way closed/clockwise. That valve is located directly below the front of the seat and has a round handle like a outside water faucet/valve. Partially open, this valve controlls how fast the 3PH lowers, to kerp a heavy 3point impliment from slamming into the ground when the 3point is lowered...

Hi,

I own one of these and like you knew nothing about tractors Chinese or other when I started. A few years later and I've started to just get a handle on it!

Do a search again on TBN because I got all the fluid specs from here plus some good images showing all the drain points. Keep an eye on the engine oil for any discolouration which can suggest head gasket problems. Or bubbling in the radiator cap. Had to do mine. Worth checking tension on the head bolts as well in case they haven't been re tensioned.

The things I'd do as well as the fluids is to give it a go over with a grease gun - there are nipples or zerks everywhere. Remember to grease the water pump.

I'd also get a set of spanners and sockets and give everything a good tighten on the body. It's amazing what works loose.

Watch for fluid leaks from the front axle hubs. I've done the seals on each wheel. Again good info on this site.

Ensure the radiator is kept clean of dust and seeds etc. I use a very soft brush every time I finish in the fields to gently clean it out. Some owners make up shields which is probably a better idea. If the radiator fluid doesn't look great I'd give it a back flush. And check the hoses and fan belt for wear. Might be worth checking the thermostat as well.

Major issue on these is the electrics. I've almost given up and put in a mechanical temp gauge.

My go to guy is Tommy at Affordable for parts but there may be someone closer to you but he always seems to have what I need.

Have fun!

Mark

I appreciate the replies. I looked at the Affordable website and he is a few hours away.
I looked around and did a search on here and was able to get fluid capacities.
Now as far as the injector pump goes I quickly checked again and took a few pictures and had other questions.

Since red caps are a sign of fill ports, I assume the one on top of the tranny selector is the dipstick and fill port.
What is this one near the injector pump?

Also here are pics of the botton and side of the injector pump. It is similar to this one Fuel Inj Pump-TY290x-Style 2 Jinma Tractor parts| Farm Pro Tractor Parts|

Well funny enough that red marked cap in the first pic that is connected to the front of the gear case also looks like yet another motor oil fill point.

In that second pic, that little dipstick handle looking thingy on the back of the IP looks a lot like a dipstick:) Have you tried pulling it out? IF that is an IP oil dipstick, well then all you need is a drain. I would think that if you get some carb/choke cleaner and some rags and wipe off the bottom of the IP, you will probably find a drain. It may be cleverly disguised as a case mounting bolt:) In the clean pics you linked to on the circle g website you can see 2 possible drain plugs just barely visible along the bottom of the case. The mushroom looking thing on the top of the IP is the breather, that is where you can add oil, if not down thru the dipstick...

small dipstick is IP oil level, larger one below and to the right is engine oil. hex head beneath the IP is indeed the drain, there should be one just like it on the end facing the rear of the tractor. That's the fill level hole. Drain old fluid, flush, add fluid until it comes out the side. At that point stop pouring, replace side bolt and fill/vent.

But that is one filthy engine. Before you start ANYTHING, I strongly recommend powerwashing.

I think if it has the IP dipstick, it won't have the fill level hole at the back like the 3 cylinder IP does...

I hadn't thought that through, I believe you're correct
