JD990 Quote - Good/Bad?

This is the latest quote I received from another JD dealer. Is this a good price given that it includes the wheel weights and all? I also have a quote for a 300CX FEL w/HD 61" bucket for $3500 and an LX5 RC for $1450.

(I have another dealer's quote for $300 less - but with no wheel weights; and a light duty bucket)

Thanks for any feedback - I'm looking to pull the trigger soon.

Thats seems to be the going rate.

a few q's:

why wheel weights? loading tires gets you more weight that is set lower.

why 5' bucket? go 6'

and I would suggest front weights, and woods or land pride or other 6' RC.

- I didn't have any preference of Wheel Weights vs loading the tires...it was just that the dealer quoted it that way. Should I care? Is there a price difference? Maintenance issues? I was presuming that if I ever had a flat or puncture, the loaded tire would drain, causing me to have to reload it ($$). The ww's should be a one-time purchase. I'm not expecting to have any big loading jobs or any hills on my property either. Your thoughts?

- Size of bucket was smaller since I am looking to build a tree farm and wanted the mobility/clearance to work in the rows, etc... same reason for going with a 5' RC as well.

- Is there really any difference in RC's? I have about 5 acres of brush/weeds to clear; 20 acres of open cropland (for x-mas tree farm); and maybe 8-10 acres of woods. My use of a RC will be to clear the brush, then to keep the lanes between the xmas trees clean. Pretty light duty overall. So I should be able to go with another brand without issue?

That quote is in line. I think I would go with loaded tires vs wheel weights. Although what you said about a tire puncture is true. Loading the tires would be cheaper than wheel weights by about 1/2. Don't forget to have some hooks welded to your bucket. If you are interested in a little more stability have the tires reversed.
