JD755 No panel lights starts and stalls

Hi all,I have a JD755 compact tractor. I was mowing today and it ran great. On the way back to the shop it stalled. Now when I turn the ignition no panel lights come on. The tractor starts but then immediately stalls after 2-3 seconds. I was thinking maybe a fuse or the fuel solenoid? Can you bypass the solenoid to test that theory? Fuel filter is fairly new. Any input would be appreciated.

When you turn the key to the ON position do you hear a loud click? You should hear the click, if you don't you can take the left side engine cover off on manually hold the fuel shut off solenoid in for testing. Additionally you can wrap a tywrap around it to use. As for the lights check the fuses.

If I consider that both symptoms are related (no dash lights + starts but not run)... (ie. they happened at the same time) ...
... Perhaps the RUN circuit from the key switch is open. That would disable the dash lights and not keep the fuel-solenoid engaged.
BG71361 has a great idea... listen for the loud click (of the fuel solenoid on RHS of motor) when the key is turned to the ON position. If no click, and no dash lights, look at the wiring leading away from the run position contact of the start switch - or the switch itself.

PS: My key switch fails to return to run after starting - sometimes. Need to lube that keyswitch someday.
