Tractor
too many
Was looking through the tech manual (800+ pages) now here
is a nice book!

Noticed there is only a little over 10% difference in torque
with the 4210 and 4310 at rated rpm (26-2700)

What I suspected from using tractor was true, that the
maximum torque for the 4210 is at 1600 rpm and the 4310 at
1700rpm. Max torque is usually much lower then "hp rpm" but
it's torque that does the work. I was guessing 1800 from
how the tractor acts.

That high rpm (26-2700) is needed for blade speed on mowers
I don't know what else I'd use if for except chasing off
the coyotes.

Interesting to learn that....been using my 7 Iron at 2000-2100 rpm and it seems to cut well. I have never used full throttle except one time, to drag a 3000 lb section of concrete back to the end of my property.

I have always thought small and medium size diesels were best operated at an rpm midway between torque peak and maximum hp. If I am wrong, someone correct me on that.

Try the 2000 to 2200 rpm range as being a good spot to run at and save the rest for an ugly day!
