Jd400 bypass/block off power steering.

Can i cap off the hydraulic inlet line at the steering wheel base. I have a seal kit ordered but I'd like to use tractor as I just got it.

PS supply line can be capped & tractor operated for a short period of time as a test to determine if power steering valve is leaking internally. I've read where it wasn't recommended operating with PS supply line capped for an extended period of time
