JD2155 Lift Arms Stuck up Draft Control will not go down past 2.5 notches. Ideas?

Hello. Was Brush hogging in the woods and working it hard, Lifted the Arms and then it would not go down. I had Draft control up. The tractor was slowly becoming harder to have life arms go down. Would not go down all the way with draft arm up, when I moved down and pushed down then I could get the lift arms to go all the way down. The slightest amount of draft up and the arms would not go down. The were several times with draft all the way down, I still could not get lift arms down. I removed the arm spring washer bolt and could move the lift arm down a bit more and the arms would go down. Ideas? If the Rocker shaft valves or something broken inside? Appreciate you insight and time.

Do you have rate of drop screw under seat unscrewed at least 1 round? I recommend to repair problem & not move control lever lower than quadrant. It's possible a spring(key 8) inside rockshaft housing has broken or became loose. I suggest to attempt to set L/D mechanism as outlined in a JD 2155 tech manual. There are several steps in TM that should be followed verbatim. If adjusting L/D doesn't cure the problem then rockshaft will need to be removed for a visual inspection. A bore scope might help to determine if broken faulty spring is the problem.

For starters, I'd make sure everything in the linkage and pivot points is clean, free of debris or obstructions and lubricated.

Some tractors have a knob under the seat to control the lowering rate of the arms, others have a short lever or handle. If your tractor has the short lever you may have bumped it and be slowing the lowering that way.

TxJim, thank you. I would like to order the TMs but noticed several available. Appears I need to order two, but they are spendy so your advice experience would be appreciated. In Alaska we do not really have AG tractor service support. The local shops focus is construction, so kinda on my own. Your advice on which manuals would be great. I did get the tractor lifts arm works with moving draft control down midway, which was very hard to do and then I wired in position. It worked all day brushhogging through the woods, but I believe I'm on borrowed time and will need to bring home to my shop to repair. Thank you. Appreciate your help. Ken

Thank you. I did check. I have a short handle and have bumped with my big feet, kinda tight deck space, but this was not the issue nor was the relief valve. Tks
