JD X739 gas engine spits water (or gas) drops out of exhaust on cold startup.

Is that normal? I don't recall any of my other gas mowers doing that. The engine only has 18 hours on it but its been spitting out the drops since new.

The drops have a dark carbon residue in them so its starting to show up on the concrete floor since the mower is always started in the same exact spot.

Sounds normal to me. I observe cars do this all the time expecially before the engine warms up. Water is a byproduct of the combustion process.
