I recently bought a used X585 with 650 hours. After mowing a few minutes the mower deck shuts down, after letting it sit for a few minutes with the engine off it will start up again after restarting the engine. The prior owner did some modification and bypassed the RIO switch, and seat cut off. The mower engaged light also does not come on when the mower is running. Any suggestions where I should be looking for my problem? Thanks

I would start by checking his modifications first. Then if that checks out I would check power to the solenoid on the back end of the transmission. It is the solenoid that turns oil flow to lock up the pto clutch. Just check and make sure your getting power their. If you aren't getting power then it must be a problem with the switch or the circuit board I believe.

I replaced the PTO solenoid, but it still shuts doen, actually, the blades slow down, for a while as if the oil flow is insufficient when it gets hot, then the PTO shuts down, any thoughts?

I don't know what you mean by the oil slows down. I am assuming you mean the blades slow down. The only way the blades can slow down is if the pto is coasting or the engine slows down. If the blades are coasting then your loosing your lock pressure in the pto clutch. So you may still have a problem with a switch.

The PTO is coasting after mowing for about 20 min and eventually shuts down. The engine never loses a beat, After cooling down the PTO starts back up again. I replaced the switch. Can it be caused by the lack of hydraulic oil flow when the oil gets hot? Is there a overheating cut off switch on the PTO when the oil gets too hot? Thanks for your help
