JD X530 verses X360 purchase ?

I currently own a 2011 JD X740 (diesel).Neighbor widow was looking purchase a new JD X360 or X530.I talked her into buying the X530 because she is mowing 3-4 acres per week.She also wants to buy a front mounted snow blower for the X530.You folks who have owned and operated a JD X530 are you happy with it? I hope I steered her in the right direction going with a bigger garden tractor verses the X360.The price difference was $1340 between the two units.

Thex360 has a serviceable transmission. I think, not positive, but I think it's the same frame too. If you're not running a tiller, x360 would be fine

the diff lock will be the biggest difference, that and a slightly larger tire will give
the 530 better traction with the blower. she should do fine with it!

The frame seems larger on the X530 verses the X360.But I could be wrong.

I faced a similar decision last spring. I went with the X500 primarily due to the differential lock feature. My primary use is grass cutting, pulling a 900 lb lawn roller, and pulling a JD 17P cart.

360 has the K58 medium duty transmission.
500 series has a heavier K66 with diff lock
Caution the 100 series, 300 and 304 have the dismal K46 transmission. Stay far away.

With 3-4 acres plus snow blower, the X530 is a better choice. I have X500 and recommend it highly.

I hear ya.I own a X740(diesel)and thats one of the reasons I steered her towards the X530.
