I'm researching JD2720 on the JD website . When did the "old" format
with the left-side dropdown menu , spec, owner's manual etc change
to this new format that doesn't appear to have owner's manual ?
I tried to find the Discontinued Products JD website , but couldn't find
that either . Can anyone enlighten me with a "link" or answer ?

Thanks ,

Neil.

I noticed this too. They still haven't fixed the "Build your own", there is no way to add a loader to 2520. They have everything else, rotary broom, backhoe, front blade, just no loader.

Thankyou JayC
The previous format site may have looked dated , but it
was easy to navigate and had loads of model numbers
on the same page at the same time ( always in view )
for easy comparison.

Interesting to read this thread- Feel like the new site is a step backward personally. Sadly and to my wife's chagrin (and complete lack of understanding) I continue to compare tractors and specs a year after the purchase (maybe because I bought used I have this problem?) and the new website doesn't seem to allow that or it is not intuitive. Additionally, it works horribly on an iPad. Apple doesn't rule the world but you would think in today's age they would address that.

I had a horrible time surfing the deere website the other night. Just horrible.

Took the fun right out of it.

Let's face it...Deere has alot of product. They need to simplify the website. I could barely get to compact tractors.?? Horrible.

During my current JD2720 vs Kubota B2920 (or a B3030) comparisons ,
I'm having to keep several website pages open , especially since
the downloadable JD2000twenty brochure hardly has a "fact" in 8
pages ! They say a "picture tells a thousand words" , but a 360
spin-around with no numerical facts is nothin' short of useless .
This isn't a website for XBox kids . We're equipment users , not
Gamers ; give me a break JD !

It sounds like the Web Wienies at Deere found some new whiz bang programming tools they just had to use at the expense of the end users.

Well put. I worked 10 yrs for an internet company. The techies do what
they want and it was always a battle royal to get them to listen to
customer feedback and even the company president. The new JD site stinks.

I was afraid this would happen the minute I heard that Bill Gates had bought 5% of John Deere..................

I wasted a couple of hours the other night looking for information, kept going around in circles. it's pretty much useless.

Whew, thought it was just me getting old or something. The updated website is difficult to navigate and just isn't as easy to use. After using it for a few hours, I find it requires more clicks, points, and searching than the old site.

Must be somebody's kid that needed something to do so they told him to design a new website. Hope they don't move him/her to tractor design!

Steve
