Well,I'm not running down john deere tractors,they make good stuff,we all know that,but like the other bigger names,they rest to much on their name and color,in other words they don't try as hard,don't care as much. And thats a bad thing now and will probably be worse in future,when you get to a point that you care more about other things than you do about making/selling and sevicing a product.

The dealer stays in bussness cause many want to buy a john deere just cause its a john deere,[look at those lawn mowers they sell at lowes].

ROFL! At least where I was previously employed (related field) Nothing could be farther from the truth. They get paid for their time & labor, and then some. IMO if a dealer could do JUST warranty work, I'm sure they would.

I know dealers around here even mail you postcards saying "Your warranty on your model XYZ is ending on whatever date" so call us and make an appointment to get it checked out if anything is going on...

If a dealer gives you crap, IMO thats a sign...what got me into a Deere over any other color is the local dealer treated me like a million dollar customer when I was getting parts & service help on a 20 year old machine I picked up off "the side of the road"...I figured if they treated me like that on a machine and person who "wasnt their problem" then they would surely treat me right on a new one. And they sure did and continue to do so.

My dealer actually said they get paid very well to do warranty work.

In answer to your initial question, yes, any dealer that is authorized to sell and service the product you have. (e.g. compact utility tractor) can perform warranty work. They have invested in the training/special tools to perform the work to John Deere's standards.

Dealers are always looking for new customers. Take your tractors where the service you receive meets your expectations.
