I am looking to purchase a tractor and would appreciate input from anyone who chose the jd2210 over the bx2230. What were the deciding factors for you. Any info would be very helpful!

I tried both units, and I found the BX2300 hydro foot controls very uncomfortable. I'm about 6'0 and the seat wouldn't go back far enough to be comfortable. The hydro control is a large rocker type pedal and going from forward to reverse felt awkward.
The JD 2210, has a 2 pedal hydro control for forward and reverse. The pedals are set far a good distance from the seat. Therefore the both your feet are the same distance from the body. Going from forward to reverse was a matter of just rocking your foot on your heel from the left to right.
Lift capacity of Kubota FEL 460lbs
Lift capacity of JD2210 FEL 622lbs
Just a couple items why I got the 2210...should be here this week sometime.

Look at the specs and really look at the dealer. I am not very mechanically inclined so having a dealer to help out is important to me.

Take some time to check into how thier service dept works and if others are happy with it. Eventually you will need parts or service and it can make a real difference.

Best of luck and post pics of what you get.

The loader specs are virtually the same. This is right from the JD spec sheet. Position "V" is the lift at the bucket. "U" is at the pivot(meaning without bucket).

Lift capacity:
To max. height at pivot pin (U) 282 kg (622 lb.)
To max. height (V) 198 kg (437 lb.)

I to had tons of problems with the Kubota hyrdo controls, what a pain. John Deere's 2 pedal design is patented, so thats why they have it. Simple, easy to use. Big part of why I bought a green and yellow one.

hi

I tried both the 2210 and bx 2200, I don't know what has been changed on the 2230 so keep that in mind. Both are good tractors and I don't think you will go wrong with either one.

As most have said I found the 2 pedals on the JD much easier to use, my foot didn't want to bend backwards to reverse the BX.

I thought the loader control was in a much better positon on the JD, the BX you had to reach for it, I think it was part of the loader.

I like to have a tach, the BX doesn't have one, that may have changed.

At the time it seemed like the JD was a little quieter and smoother, I think the JD engine is rubber mounted.

I also was concerned with the Bx loader capacity, I was moving bags of cement and had close to 900 pounds in the 2210 it didn't seem to slow it down at all.

I think the 2210 just felt a little bit bigger when sitting on it and has a little bit bigger front tires.

I think there have been some issues with the 3 point hitch being narrower on the bx, they both have limited lift height which is not much of an issue if you buy attactments made for the sub compacts.

To the Bx's credit I did like the front axle and rear axles, they did seem a lot heavier then the 2210.

Good luck with your choice and let us know what ya get.

precisely my dilema earlier this year. The 2210 gave me a bigger, heavier machine and more "toys" (attachments) for the money. Agreeing with others here I wanted the higher lift capacity for the FEL, plus ease of removing the FEL and MMM. I am tall and like the position of the joystick and pedals. I happened to find a package that the dealer had thrown together which included HDAP tires swapped from a x-series ( the tires are the same size as the X series) I love these tires and recommend you consider sweet-talking your dealer into special ordering them. And as another said the loader capacity is under rated, I believe I have moved loads close to 900 lbs, but do it carefully with LOTS of ballast! The loader comes off in less than a minute and so does the MMM. I recommend the Quick hitch if you use any 3'pt attachments simply because of the way the MMM lift works. I have over 60 hours on mine and loving every minute of it. my other choices were; BX2230, Case DX24, and Cub Cadet. there are no MF dealers around here.

As pointed out above, the Deere does not have more loader lift capacity than the Kubota. The Kubota BX and New Holland TZ actualy edge out the deere by a few pounds. I think everyone has realized that loader rattings are conservitive and dependant on proper balasting.

Also, the pedal design is not unique to Deere. New Holland / Case uses the same design on their machines. If you have heard that its patented its probably some of their electronic components and not the actual pedal layout.

I'm not sure where you guys get you information from but the tires are the same size. Fronts: 18 x 8.5, Rears: 26 x 12.0

It's really not that hard to get the correct specifications for any tractor. It's a shame some people's tractor bias shows with inaccurate posted information. If you don't know find out, don't post bogus info. If you like JD better just say so, if like Kubota better just say so. You don't need to make up stuff, it's Ok to just like one brand better

MessickFarmEqu info is correct as well.
