1986 2350 leaks around shaft where lift arms attach. Is it simple as it looks ? Just remove arm and pop out seal and replace ? That was a dumb design to run shaft thru differ case.

Are you sure you are not over filling it? I have been around tractors that leak but its usually because its over filled. Check everything with the FEL on the ground and 3 point arms are down. These seals are usually just a splash type seal, not meant to be submerged.

I helped a friend fix his...maybe not the same model (don't remember exactly) but the same setup.

You will have to drain the hydraulic oil, then remove the shaft, then pick out the old seals.

To get the new seals in, boil them in water for about 5-8 minutes, then fold them into a W shape to get them to fit in the groove-it's tight but it works well.

Perhaps I didn't explain very well. I am talking about the arms that attach under the bottom of the rear Differential. Now that I think about it, perhaps I don't know the correct name for them. Anyway if it has any oil at all it leaks. Thanks for the response.

I'm pretty sure you're writing about the lower links (sometimes called draw links) of the 3PH.
I think Kenny is too...
But how about a picture of the leaking area to clarify?

They are called "draft arms or draft links", I understood perfectly! But for the life of me I cannot find the shaft/seals in JDParts...I must be slipping:ashamed:

G'day don't know about your model but do know that alot of tractors use that shaft as a sensing shaft for draft control DON'T pull it al the way out as you can drop the pin that senses the rod and then you have to get into it big time ( if this pin not there then no linkage operation at all) just pull it far enogh to get seals out. Good luck

I was thinking you were talking about the lift arms at the top of the lift box. Sounds like you do have a problem with the lower 3 point arm pins leaking.

I agree, that is a bad design.
