JD 175
Looking at buying a 2005 for $3900.00 with 300 hours on it. It looks to be in excellent condition with a 54 inch deck. Will this deck blow the grass out well and not leave it in a row or will it need a power flo bagger ? Would a 48 inch deck be better ? What is you opinions on this model ? What are the pro's and con's of this model ?
Currently I have a JD 175 with a 38 inch deck which throws the grass out very well.
I am also looking at a JD X324 with all wheel steer, any opinions on this model ?

I've got a 2004 GX 345 and paid $4,500.00 in 2007 with just over 400 hours on it. It also has a 54" deck and turf tires on the back. It now has 602 hours on it and up until last year I did nothing to it but replace the main deck belt.
My dad uses this and ran it out of oil last year and locked up the crankshaft bearing, now I'm having problems with the PTO Clutch bolt breaking on the thing; a problem I've yet to resolve so I'm looking for a pull behind mower for him to use in the mean time.

Aside from that I really like the tractor and see no cons. Love the power steering and tight turning radius of it, no gear shift to worry about plus it has lots of power.

As far as the deck goes, with the plastic chute down it does make rows in higher grass. I have a bungee cord holding the chute open and it throws the grass good.

Probably the best money spent on a tractor thus far...
