I just purchased a Gator HPX 4x4. Can this machine be modified to go faster than 25mph?

Seems like a very solid machine. How do people out there like their Gators? Any problems that I should watch out for?

Thanks for the help.

I've had mine for over a year now with 160 hrs. So far, no problems. I've been very satisfied with the HPX. Don't know how you'd get more speed unless you adjusted the governor on a diesel.

Ahhh, is there a UTV you don't have yet? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif How many do you have now? I know of the RTV, UASA and HPX. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif That's a nice stable of machines.

Did you get the diesel or gas Gator?

I have three. I got a gas HPX.

I have sold my Kubota after it was outfitted. I have another one on order. I got an offer on it that I thought was very high so I took it and will start again with another one. I just cannot get enough of these utility vehicles. I use them for everything.

Given your experiences include the AUSA Task 50, the RTV and the new Gator . . .

and . . .

granted I am asking a loaded question, but which is the best all around machine and why do you think that?

i have a gas 4x4 hpx and i have no complaints . it can haul anything. i have hauled bricks up hill and had to stop and then start up again and it did with no problem this was with full load of bricks going up a levee . i did get stuck 2 times but my winch pulled me out real easy. i have the winch set up that you can just plug into the socket and swap it from front to back reciever hitches. i even carried a yamaha big bear 4x4 4 wheeler in the back (well they did have some hingin out) but i did haul him home when his front dif. went out and boy was he amased when the hpx didn't even squat or grunt to haul him home. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jon,

Oh man... I'm going to miss seeing that one. My favorite pics are of you moving someone into their cabin in the winter. I was going to link to those pictures but it appears they've been archived.

Will you be putting tracks on your new one?

I've heard mixed reviews on the gas version. Take a look in some of the older threads here but I thought they were a bit cold-blooded.

Brian

PS. I haven't seen any pics of your AUSA re-assembled after the paint job. Do you have it done? Are you going to post some pics?

I like the Kubota the best. Everyone can say what they want about power going up hills or whatever but when it comes down to it I really think it is the best machine.

The Kubota has power steering. You just dont know how nice that is until you use another machine without it. I love the power steering. The kubota has a wonderful engine and a great cab. Overall they have done a great job with that machine.

The Ausa has the best ride. I have not been in a machine that has a better ride. The engine is wonderful and starts like a dream.

The Gator so far (short time for an actual opinion) is cold starting but it starts. It has a nice seating setup but not great. My gut feeling is this gator is going to be cold starting and that will probably be its only fault. I think they are about as strong as an ox and will run for a long time. That is my gut feeling.

Brian,

I did get the Ausa back together. The thing looks great. I will get some pictures posted. I kept my tracks and they will be going on the new Kubota. I love outfitting these things and putting on all sorts of accessories and just having fun with them. I can't wait to get started on another one.

They are a tad cold blooded, but they warm up quickly.
