Hi Guys any of you have any experience with a John Deere F-925?
I found this one online at a dealer I do trust he says it is clean was a trade that came in last October. 1998 35 hp deisel 600 hours and 60 " deck- $5700.00?

Huron Tractor - Your full service equipment dealership!

Those hours are nothing on that motor would this be a good back up machine? I cut about 10 acres a week and am currently using a 757 zero turn 60 inch deck and I would keep this machine also.

Is this a deal?

It is a rear discharge deck is this going to leave to many clippings behind?

DP, They are a pretty good Front Mower, Really turn sharp and have plenty of power. Pretty Stable on Slopes, especially if the mower has the 72" side Discharge Deck, obviously this 925 has the 60" Discharge deck.

I only live 10 minutes away from the Huron Tractor location in Exeter and have seen this 925 in person. It's in really nice shape. I have a 97" F1145 with 60" Side Discharge Deck, that I use as part of my part-time lawn care business for mowing ditch banks, Its Simular to 935, except the F1145 has 4X4.

I have not ran an F900 Series with the Rear Discharge Deck, so I can't comment on the performance of the Rear Discharge Deck. I have test driven a 1435 Front Mower with the 60" 7 Iron Rear Discharge deck, and it did a pretty decent job. With those rear discharge decks( especially on the Front mounts) you got to constantly clean out the grass around the Transmission, as it tends to build up around the transmission. I have seen Several Munipality Front Mowers, that were awful for being so pluged up with grass from the Rear discharge Deck( around the transmission) it was not funny.

The hours on that 935 are nothing, actually pretty low for 1998 with 35hp Yanmar, My F1145 Deere is a 97, with a little over 2,370hrs and still runs likes new. I have seen a few 925/F1145's pushing 4,000+ hrs on the clock, with no engine problems. Would make a decent back up machine to your Z-Tracks. In fact, that 925 would easily handle a 72" Side discharge deck as well, which would make that mower even more productive.
Great for trimming up close to objects and under trees with those Front mounts, A big advantage I like about the Front deck mowers vs the Mid- mount mowers, although I run both types and are pretty happy with both designs.

Huron Tractors a very reliable, Honest Dealership, I have dealt with them for years and have always had excellent service from the parts department and the salesmen are very knowledgeable, honest and Really know their stuff.
I would not be afraid of the 925, and would be a good backup machine.

Hey Thanks Jason I have really been happy with Huron and have found them so much more enjoyable to deal with then McGrails. The atmosphere is entirely different and the staff and sales people are so freindly to deal with your absolutely rite.
This is a good write up to see and the fact that you have seen the machine in person and are telling me it is in nice shape. So many of these machines seem to have the rear body panels all banged up in worse shape and more hours and yet asking more money then this machine?
I got lucky early last year with Huron and found my 757Z 2005 model with 210 hours on it, 60 inch 7 iron deck and the bag collection system for $5500.00 wow is all I could say. I bought the machine online without even seeing it and said I will pick it up on the weekend. The service people cleaned it, they put new blades on it, all new filters and plugs for $5500.00 it was one of the better deals I think personally I have ever been lucky enough to find.
This 935 almost looks as good with such low hours on it but I am concerned with the rear discharge mower a few friends in the big time turf business have told me to stay away from that deck. I almost wonder if Huron could find me a 72" side discharge deck and I would be willing to pay a little more.
I liked Huron so much I bought my 3720 cab there last summer McGrails even seems less friendly now...oh well :)

DP, You got a great deal on that Z-Track from Huron Tractor! They really stand behind their product. I bought a 2007 Deere X744 AWS Garden Tractor off of Huron in the Late Spring of 2010. I put 25 hrs on the mower when the gearbox on the mower deck went out, Turned out one of their other locations had done the Service Inspection on my X744 before I bought it, but forgot to check the gear box. Long Story short, Huron Tractor was very appologetic with the issue of the gear box on my X744, Well a day after the gear box failed, they had a NEW Gearbox on my X744's mower deck and did not charge me anything for repairing it. Salesrep was very helpful and appologied a few times for the trouble I had... Now thats Service! They are a big Dealer, but they care about the Customer and solving problems. Always enjoy dealing with Huron and will continue buying from them.
I have been in some John Deere Dealers, who won't give you the time of the day, but Huron Treats their smaller customers just as good as their bigger customers.

I Had a Kubota F2560 Front Mount before my Deere X744, and it had a Rear Discharge deck, but the Rear Discharge deck did such a horrible job, I went back to side discharge mowers( Actually traded the Kubota in on the X744). I don't think the Rear Discharge decks are worth it( Personally) unless your cutting in public parks etc. Too much hastle, and more grass to blow off around the mower.

Huron might be able to find you a 72" Deck for that F935, sometimes they can swamp decks out between two different mowers... Ie they get a F1145 with 72" deck in, that they can swamp the decks out between the two mowers. They did have an F1145 last year with the 72" deck but sold it.
I see on Ebay, you can buy a 72" deck for the 935 for around $1100.

Its in nice shape, this F925 is, probably the nicest ones I have seen in a long time and really low hrs. If it had a side discharge deck, I think it would sell a lot better.
