JD 950 won't start.

I have a JD 950 with the Yammer 3 cyl. engine. Over the winter unbeknownst to me water got into the muffler through a cracked weld in the exhaust pipe. When I went to start it this spring water flew out of the muffler. I was able to get it started and was using the tractor for leveling out my drive. After about 20minutes it quit. Since then I have been unable to start it. When I attempt to start it I smell diesel but it doesn't seem like its igniting. The fuel filter isn't clogged.Kind of not knowing what is going on. I would appreciate any advice on the matter Thank you.

Welcome to TBN. Did you take on any water in the fuel tank? How is the fuel flow out of the tank? Crud can grow in there and block the exit of fuel. Check the flow on the input side of the fuel filter. You will probably need to bleed the fuel system again after this test. Ensure you have a clear air path and the air filter is not clogged.

Don't believe I took any water in the fuel tank. I pulled the fuel hoses out of the fuel tank, prior to and after the fuel filter. Diesel was flowing fine. I also checked the air filter and it was fine. What is the proper way to bleed the fuel system? Thanks.

The proper way to bleed the fuel system should be shown in the owner's manual. It can vary greatly among tractor brands and models. Some require no bleeding at all while others require opening various points along the fuel path to bleed off air along the way. You may wish to check with a dealer for more information.
